Safari Tour Ideas come in all shapes and sizes. You might call them tours; you might call them trips – tomayto; tomahtoe! We call them safaris. And ours are extraordinary. Somewhere between “Oh” and “my” you’ll realise you won’t ever want to go on another safari again. If you’re looking for the personalised experience of a lifetime, complete with amazing service, the warmest African hospitality, stylish escapes, quality food and five-star nature experiences, we’ll blow you away.
Our Custom Safaris are tailormade, fly-in safaris where you pick it all: who you’re going with, where and when you want to go, and how much you want to spend. They’re trips built entirely around you. Check out a few of our Safari Tour Ideas below – we have some great suggested itineraries. They’re there to inspire you with jaw-dropping possibilities. You can tweak them however you like. Clear your mind of the obvious (make room for the different), and get ready for the truly marvellous. Are you coming?
Safari Tour Ideas
Whether you’re travelling on your own, on a romantic safari-a-deux, or with family, you’ll travel independently. That means you’re flying solo, not with a guided group. But you’re never totally alone when it counts.
You’ll find a safari guide waiting for you at each lodge. Most importantly, your personal travel planner will be with you every step of the way. Not literally – that would be creepy – but only a WhatsApp away.
Personal Travel Planners
All our safari tours come with your very own dedicated Personal Travel Planner. Their approach to planning is a little small-minded to say the least. Details matter! Not only are they passionate and generally amazing at what they do (we only hire outstanding people, it’s a rule around here), they’re also real safari experts.
Once booked and the countdown begins, we’ll get you ready for your safari. The build-up is a big part of the fun. We’ll send you everything you need to know, from what to read to what to pack. We’re also one hundred percent up to date on the latest safari fashions (leopard print can be a tad Tiger King in these parts). Think of us as your private safari Alexa. But less annoying.
What to budget
To us, luxury is all about the experience, and we never, ever compromise on that. We will never ask you, what’s your budget. That’s a pressure question, and no one is expected to know how much a safari costs. We prefer to focus on what type of experience you are looking for. Whether you choose indulgent luxury or prefer a pure and simple safari tent – or a mixture of both – we’ll know just where to send you and your budget. And in which order, too. It’s just another one of our many impressive skills.
What’s included in our Safari Tour Ideas
Unless you’re letting loose in the lodge boutique, your wallet can enjoy its own vacation in the peace and quiet of your in-room safe. We’ll always let you know what to expect before you travel, but as a rule of thumb, our all-inclusive safaris typically cover the following:
- Game drives and safari guides: If you’d like to leave a tip or two, that’s for your own account. (USD and GBP notes are generally widely accepted.) For more information on tipping, check out our planning page.
- All meals and drinks on safari: Some camps have a surcharge for premium wines and spirits, but their inclusive wines are usually seriously impressive bottles from the Cape Winelands.
- Laundry: Generally, a same-day service. It’s super handy for packing light and recycling yesterday’s outfit.
- Transfers: From airport transfers to camp-to-camp trips in tiny planes, it’s all covered. And if it’s not, we’ll let you know.
The Zoom Call
Our safari quiz helps us work out what kind of safari-goer you are, followed by that first all-important “getting to know you” call, which gets the real planning started. Our sole mission is to know you better than your own mother knows you. Not so that we can harass you about your diet or call you at random times of the day for help recovering lost emails, but because we want to go through some perfect African Safari Tour Ideas with you.
