A true African love story Southern Africa Honeymoon safari

Are you ready to embark on the honeymoon adventure of a lifetime? Well, get ready to be wowed by the sights and sounds of Cape Town, Kruger National Park, and Victoria Falls. This luxury 10-day trip will make you fall in love again – with each other and Southern Africa.

First stop Cape Town. With a national park on its doorstep and a mountain that’s flatter than a pancake, it’s the perfect blend of urban cool and breathtaking nature. And let’s not forget the food, a mix of European, African and Malay influences – you may find yourself eating your body weight in food (we won’t judge).

Next up, you’ll head to Kruger National Park. It’s like stepping into a wildlife documentary, except this time, you’re the star (Get ready to unleash your inner Tarzan and Jane). Imagine the thrill of spotting a lion in its natural habitat or the excitement of following a pack of wild dogs on a hunt. You’ll get up close and personal with the Big Five (It’s okay to give your guide a checklist). Kruger is the perfect mix of romance and adventure. As the sun sets over the park, the stars come out to play and the sounds of the bush come alive.

Follow the map north, for a short hop to Victoria Falls. You’ll feel like you’re in a cheesy romance novel as you gaze upon the falls and feel the mist on your face. It’s so romantic you’ll want to propose all over again. Watch the sunset from a boat cruise on the Zambezi or take a heli flip over the Falls but remember, it’s also the adventure capital of Southern Africa. If you’re feeling brave, you can white water raft on some serious rapids or even bungee jump off the bridge (because nothing says romance like risking your life).

Each of these wonders will wow you in its own particular way, with the cumulative effect making for a once-in-a-lifetime holiday (although many find themselves returning).

Break it down Itinerary overview

Welcome to the beautiful Mother City. We'll kick off the romance with a private transfer to the lovely Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel, where you’ll spend three nights in a classic room. With the iconic Table Mountain towering above you, and the city’s best bars, galleries and restaurants within walking distance, Cape Cadogan is a lovely place to base yourself while exploring one of the world’s most spectacular cities. The hotel’s adjoining restaurant, Upper Union, is a stylish eatery serving up a modern, shared-dining concept and is not to be missed.

Cape Town is a genuinely jaw-dropping city, with a unique combination of urban and nature-based experiences you won’t find anywhere else. We’ve included a food walking tour for this morning. It’s the best way to get know the city. In the late afternoon, work off some of those extra calories on a climb up Table Mountain or if you are overcome with holiday laziness, catch the cable car instead (we won't judge) The sunset from the top is all the reward you need.

The great charm of Cape Town is how incredibly diverse and naturally beautiful it is. It has a breathtaking combination of beaches, mountains, flora and fauna, wine and cultural history that is truly unique. The Lion Trail, a unique walking tour in nature featuring fascinating stories, delicious picnic stops and an electric scooter ride, is the best way to truly understand what makes Cape Town the beguiling city it is. With ever-changing views, this walking tour showcases the city at its very best. You’ll have the second half of the day to visit the beaches, shops or for sundowners at the Waterfront

Today you swap the big city for the Big Five. Its just a short hop to Narina Lodge, one of Africa’s last truly unspoiled wilderness areas. Narina Lodge is a romantic and private sanctuary in a private concession within the Kruger National Park. In between the game drives and lapping up the serene luxury of your suite while watching animals feeding on the riverbank, the dining experiences at Narina Lodge is also a highlight. Paired with wines from all over the Cape, a meal becomes an experience in itself.

Your first full day at Narina Lodge will see you settle into the rhythm of the African wilderness, with morning and afternoon game drives. Home to the highest and most diverse concentration of wildlife in the southern hemisphere. You can see all of Africa’s iconic species here, including the Big Five, along with a supporting cast of 137 mammal species and over 450 varieties of bird. Expertly led by your guide, you’ll explore the wilderness in search of whatever is roaming out there that day, whether it’s a herd of shuffling buffalo or a pride of lions on a kill in a riverbed, you never know what the wilderness will throw your way, and therein lies the magic.

A highlight at Narina Lodge for many is a night under the stars at the reserve’s Tinyeleti tree house, a secure outdoor platform where the sounds of the African bush will lull you to sleep at night. Set high up in the indigenous woodland overlooking the Sabie River, predators are especially prolific, with frequent leopard and lion sightings.

The grandeur of your trip gets dialled up today when you’re whisked north to the world’s greatest waterfall at Victoria Falls. Three unforgettable nights await you at this unique destination where you’ll be staying at the Stanley & Livingstone Boutique Hotel. Surrounded by the tranquillity of Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve and primely located just 15 minutes from the Falls themselves, Stanley & Livingstone is a wonderful sanctuary amidst the excitement of all the region offers. The 16 Suites capture the charm of a bygone era. Each has a canopied king-size bed, minibar, slipper bath and walk-in shower, lounge, and terrace – for morning coffees and private dinners.

One of the standout experiences at Stanley & Livingstone is the Exclusive Black Rhino Conservation Experience at Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve, the only privately-owned reserve within the immediate vicinity of Victoria Falls. All of the Big Five, rare and endangered species, and flourishing birdlife find sanctuary here. To generate funds for conservation, you get an extremely rare chance to see this critically endangered animal in the wild. An immersive talk with your expert guide is followed by a game drive onto the reserve in search of this rare and critically-endangered species.

Dive into the great array of wonders and experiences at Victoria Falls. There are tours that take you to the Falls’ edge, scenic flights that take your breath away, and local community experiences that take you into the heart of this place to truly connect. You can also go whitewater rafting or float down the Zambezi passing hippos bobbing in the water and birds foraging onshore, while minding sly crocodiles.

You’ll have time for breakfast and to soak up the last of Africa’s magic, before setting off on your return journey to Cape Town.
