Setting the Scene
Backed by the fabulously named T-Rex Mountain on the unimaginably remote high polar plateau, Explorer Camp is simple but far from basic. It’s designed to blend in with its surroundings – the white pods are almost invisible against the snow, with only the glinting windowpanes to indicate their existence from afar. If you go for a walk, it might be smart to leave a breadcrumb trail.
Wildly Stylish Sleeping Arrangements
The camp’s heated en-suite pods are the most blissful places to return to after a day of doing activities that you’ll later share to a flurry of gasp-face emojis. Gaze out on the frozen landscape and granite peaks from your cosy bed. The wooden décor gives the pods an Alpine ski hut vibe – just without the hundreds of tourists.
Food Philosophy
Join fellow explorers for celebratory drinks around the gas fire under the twinkling chandelier (yes there’s a chandelier). The perfect segway for a gourmet meal with wine pairings! Afterwards, sit back, popcorn in hand (if your stomach hasn’t reached it’s threshold), and watch a film in the camp’s cosy movie theatre.

This is Explorer Camp, after all. Go for a walk or climb a frozen waterfall or hike a mountain! It’s also fittingly the launch pad for a journey to the South Pole, the end of the Earth – a place steeped in history and adventure, and the location of one of the coolest selfies you’ll ever take.
