Newly rebuilt, DumaTau sits on the edge of Osprey Lagoon where the floodplains of the Linyanti river meet Namibia’s Caprivi strip. Sensitive souls look away, this is wild dog country. And leopard and lion country too. When you’re not soaking up the predator action, there’s more than enough to keep you out of trouble. Take a helicopter flip, grab a soul-soothing rub at the spa after a bumpy morning following wild dogs on the hunt, and brunch in style with a Bloody Mary – and a bloody good book. Or just kick back in your private plunge pool and start planning your return trip next year.
The DumaTau Experience
Duma Tau means “roar of the lion” in Setswana, and you can expect to see, if not hear, these impressive cats. Lions and leopards abound, while sightings of wild dog are not uncommon. The focus of activities here are twice daily 4×4 game drives where you also get to see huge herds of elephant.
