If you’re after endless miles of wilderness in every direction, where time all but stands still, you’ll fall in love with Selinda Explorers. Tucked away under a shady canopy of African ebony trees, on the banks of the Selinda Spillway – the seasonal waterway that connects the Okavango to the Linyanti – just four semi-permanent tents lie in prime predator habitat. Wild dogs tackle impala right in camp, wherever and whenever they please. (Even the camp’s kitchen has seen some gory take-downs, in a flurry of marinated olives and sprigs of fresh thyme.) This rustic beauty is worthy of one billion stars
The Selinda Explorers Experience
Located within the one hundred-and-thirty-thousand-hectare Selinda Game Reserve in the northern delta, the romantic Meru style tents give this safari an authentic feel. Although twice daily game drives are on offer, activities here are centered on walking and canoeing when flood waters are high enough (May to September). There are hammocks hanging in the shade of the camp trees, which make for the perfect midday snooze.
