We head off on the 10 September 2025 from Cape Town and journey to a region in Southern Africa known as Africa’s Eden – The rest? Well… that’s classified

Secret Safari is the most exciting experience in all of Africa (just for you and someone you love—a partner, friend, sibling, niece, or even your fabulous self).  All you need is a spirit of adventure (and a camera).

Join Hidden Africa on an 11-day safari to an extraordinary hidden world and follow in the footsteps of great explorers. We’ll visit a land that is vast, wild, and wonderful on a journey into the unknown—for a safari of a lifetime.

Would you go on an African safari if you didn’t know ahead of time where you were going? Turns out a handful of interesting people are open to the idea. – Travel in a small guided group with a maximum of 12 people.  We know the temptation to plan every moment is real (especially as a first-time safari-goer), but trust us, there’s a certain kind of joy in discovering a destination without any preconceived ideas. Plus we’ve tucked away so many thrilling surprises – Are you coming?

Secret Safari Highlights

This is not an ordinary safari. From luxury tented camps to thrilling sleep-outs, private transfers, tiny bush planes and handsome pilots.

Local Characters. An interesting cast of characters, from expert guides at every stop to some surprise speakers.

Locally hosted dinners. Mix and meet with locals; we promise local flavour in one of our friend’s homes in Cape Town (oops, we spilt the beans).

Life-changing experiences. What you’ll do? That would be telling. You may sleep under a billion stars, track the big five or visit a local village? You may even tick off another world heritage site.

Food— Glorious food. You will never starve on safari. Come hungry. As a rule of thumb, expect to be fed every 5 minutes. Secret Safari includes all meals, drinks, and even gratuities.

Bang for your buck What’s included

Accommodation in classic safari camps and stylish city hideaways.

While on safari, enjoy all your meals, including tempting high tea treats and delicious three-course dinners.

Drinks are included on safari, local wines from the Cape (prepare to be impressed), cocktails, beers and cold drinks.

Our city stops are heaving with restaurants to explore, so we usually only include some of these meals. It’s way more fun that way. Expect to have one or two meals at leisure during a city stop, drinks are included with included meals.

Secret Safari is hosted with local private guides at every stop. Famed for their expert local knowledge (and superior genetics), they’re also experts on how you like your sundowners.

A variety of secret safari activities, individualised for you at every safari location and city sightseeing activities in our city stop.

Local hosted dinners are memorable experiences where you will be hosted by interesting local characters. (One of our friends) From a braai at a winemaker’s home to a zhoosh dinner party, we promise local flavour, fine cape wine, lots of laughs, and a deeper insight into living in Africa.

Every Secret Safari includes a special guest speaker. Topics range from poaching to human encroachment and hunting. We don’t skirt around the real issues facing Africa and Africans.

Complimentary laundry: While on safari, all your dirty laundry will be taken care of – free of charge. This makes packing light and fitting in the stuff you want easy.

Air and transfers are included: All your airport runs, camp-to-camp transfers and internal flights, scheduled and charter, are covered. And your host is always on hand to make sure you don’t miss any.

Gratuities are included.

Dedicated Travel Planner (based in Cape Town) to help you plan it all. They take care of every detail every step of the way. All you have to do is show up and have fun. Your Personal Travel Planner is available to you for the duration of your safari experience, from the time of your first enquiry, to when you get back home. They’re only a WhatsApp or a phone call away.
