Somalisa Camp is laden with copper bathtubs, beaten silverware and golden grasslands stretching as far as the eye can see, there’s an air of alchemy to this Hwange hideaway. Somalisa Camp is reclusively set in a private concession in the heart of Hwange National Park, you’ll find seven elegant sail tents – and countless beaming smiles. Breakfasts are blanket-wrapped affairs over bowls of oozy oats cooked on the open fire (by someone else, of course) followed by game drives that up the ante with big game and serious predator action. For nature nerds like us, sable and roan antelope sightings are the cherry on the top. And, of course, there’s always the occasional “thought hog” – those unassuming stumps you swear just moved. But didn’t.
