The Chobe River is an important tributary of the mighty Zambezi river. It lends its name to the famous Chobe National Park as well as to this lodge. Perched on a hill overlooking the mighty river, Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero is an oasis of green, all year round. And if elephants are your thing, you’ll find the world’s largest population right on your doorstep. Not to mention jaw-dropping river views, and a cheeky outdoor shower á deux that you won’t be able to resist. (Don’t ask us how we know…).
The Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero Experience
The river is a highlight and boat trips in the afternoon are a must. Game is particularly impressive during the dry months of July to October when there is less water inland. Expect to see large herds of elephant and buffalo. Smaller residents include kingfishers and colorful carmine bee-eater’s nesting in the banks of the river.
