Situated adjacent to the famous Moremi Game Reserve and teeming with big game, the 200,000 hectare Khwai Private Reserve is enormous. This is where you’ll find the charming, community-run Sable Alley. Home to huge herds of buffalo and elephant, plenty of predator action, and of course sable antelope, there’s no shortage of things to see. Take a guided game walk along the banks of the Khwai river, hop into a mokoro for an even closer look, catch a quick night drive after dinner or simply pen a few gin-soaked safari memoirs from the expansive writing desk in your room – ah, the pleasures.
The Sable Alley Experience
The camp has good views across the Lagoon to the Moremi grasslands beyond. The lagoon is frequented by elephant looking to cool off, as well as resident hippos. Activities are centered around day and night game drives, while sleeping out in one of the Skybed treehouses offers a dreamscape of constellations, distant galaxies and shooting stars.
