Jao Camp is arguably one of the most luxurious camps in all Botswana. From the moment you arrive by boat, you’re taken by its playful architecture and blissful sense of seclusion. Nothing here is done in half measures, not least the size of the rooms. Skip a game drive (if you can bear to) and spend a relaxed morning in camp, soaking up all it has to offer: swing in a hammock with a good book, try out the gym-with-a-view, drool your way along the shelves of the vast wine cellar and when you’re ready for action again, the predators and endless elephant herds will be waiting for you.
The Jao Camp experience
While there’s lots to do in Jao Camp, it’s the water-based activities that set it apart. The camp is surrounded by seasonal floodplains, little islands and tiny channels which make for a truly memorable delta experience. The camp itself warrants time away from game viewing to soak it all up.
