Filled with all life’s creature comforts, recently rebuilt Eagle Island is classic Okavango. It’s located in the middle of the delta, surrounded by meandering waterways and more than 400 species of birds. It’s a twitcher’s paradise. Even if you’re not an avid birder, you’ll be converted by the time you leave. There are animals aplenty too. Explore the delta’s channels by traditional dugout canoe, poled along by your guide, leaving your hands free for photos, or for scooping up sips of crystal clear water. Later, kick back on your sprawling four-poster bed for some well-deserved R&R with a front row seat to the wildlife.
The Eagle Island Experience
Eagle island is surrounded by water during the flood season from April to September. During this time the focus is on water-based activities. The scenery is extremely impressive and so too is the spa and the food. This is where you go to be pampered in stunning surroundings.
